The Mediatrician in Tupelo

On May 7, 2026, the Children’s Foundation of Mississippi, in partnership with the Brevard Family Foundation, welcomed Dr. Michael Rich, known as “The Mediatrician,” to Tupelo for a special community event focused on children’s digital wellness and mental health.

Families enjoyed screen-free activities, games, community resources, and opportunities to connect before participating in a fireside chat about helping children and families develop healthier relationships with digital media. The visit also included conversations with business leaders, educators, healthcare professionals, and community partners about promoting healthy media use.

Months of planning and collaboration among schools, nonprofits, businesses, volunteers, and community leaders made the event possible. The initiative strengthened local partnerships, expanded awareness of digital wellness, and provided families with practical tools for encouraging communication, connection, and healthy media habits at home.
