Family Engagement & Early Learning

The Children’s Foundation of Mississippi supports family engagement and early learning work that helps parents and caregivers use everyday moments to support children’s development.

Families are children’s first and most important teachers. Through this initiative, the Children’s Foundation of Mississippi helps connect families and partners to simple, practical tools that support early learning, health, routines, school readiness, and caregiver-child connection.

This work includes our Vroom Across Mississippi initiative, in partnership with the Mississippi State Social Science Research Center, which helps families use Vroom Tips in daily life. Vroom Tips show how moments like mealtime, errands, bath time, travel, and play can support early brain development through simple interactions between children and caregivers.

This initiative also includes family-facing materials, parent and caregiver trainings, outreach to new and expecting parents, and partner-supported events that help families extend learning at home.

What this work may include:

  • Family engagement events

  • Parent and caregiver trainings

  • New and expecting parent outreach

  • Vroom Tips and family-facing resources

  • Take-home materials for families

  • Early learning and school readiness supports

  • Resources connected to routines, transitions, health, and caregiver-child connection

  • Partner outreach and dissemination
