Twambo Nambao, MBChB, MSc, DrPH Candidate

Twambo Nambao is a Zambian physician, public health professional, and Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) candidate at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She brings over a decade of experience in health systems leadership, infectious disease control, maternal and child health, and public health program implementation. She has served as a District Health Director in Zambia and currently works with the National Malaria Elimination Centre.

During her DrPH training, Twambo has developed a growing interest in child and adolescent health, particularly digital wellness and the evolving relationship between children and technology. In 2026, she completed a field experience with the Children’s Foundation of Mississippi, exploring the impact of social media on children and adolescents through engagement with families and stakeholders across health, education, policy, and advocacy. This experience inspired her Harvard Chan blog, “What Happens When the Screen Goes Off? Lessons on Digital Wellness from Mississippi,” and strengthened her interest in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, and their implications for children’s well-being.

Twambo is passionate about improving the health and well-being of children and underserved populations. Following her doctoral training, she hopes to continue working at the intersection of child health, health systems, policy, and emerging technologies, translating evidence into practical solutions that help children and families thrive.
